A(p)partment is part of a curatorial art project for contemporary artists

A(p)partment is a mobile application that explores art and technology through the projects of various contemporary artists. The exploration takes its form by the experiences that are presented to the user through a very private galaxy: each own mobile phone.

A(p)partment delves into how technology actively takes part in art today. The different resources used by the artists to interact with the application gather the conventional and alternative ways of representing and creating art and, in doing so, create an environment for learning and entertainment.

A(p)partment tries to raise questions about how we think about art by exploiting the multimedia capabilities of interactive mobile applications.

A(p)partment is a curatorial project by Andrea Rodríguez Novoa and Veronica Valentini in collaboration with TuerCo, the app developers. Created with support from Sant Andreu Contemporani in the framework of Premi Miquel Casablancas 2014.
