Every year, Ramadan is present in the lives of Muslims. All Muslims should be grateful for being reunited with a month full of forgiveness and blessings. Because not a few of our brothers and sisters were called by Allah SWT first so they could not meet this month full of grace. We must make the most of these encounters because if not, Ramadan will come and go without any meaning or benefit, and this is often the case, Ramadan is only ceremonial.

Of course we should not make Ramadan merely ceremonial. This is because this month contains wisdom and deep lessons for us Muslims. The Prophet Muhammad emphasized that "if my people knew about the month of Ramadan, they would have hoped that the whole year would be the month of Ramadan" (law ta'lam ummati ma fi ramadan latamannau an takun al-sanat kulluha ramadan).

This is the background for compiling this book, so that Ramadhan, which often passes every year, will leave a deep mark in the lives of us Muslims. As a reflection of Ramadhan 1435 H, these essays written by IAIN Pontianak lecturers are nothing but a form of endeavor in exploring the wisdom and lessons of Ramadan. The essays in this book are a collection of essays that have previously been published in local newspapers in West Kalimantan, such as the Pontianak Post, Rakyat Kalbar, and Borneo Tribune.

Finally, we really hope that this book will benefit all of us, especially those of us who are Muslims.
