FM radio from Barra do Herons Mato Grosso

Founded by Álvaro Pedro and Milton Lemos, Rádio Aruanã was a pioneer in the city of Barra do Garças. It appeared in 1978 with the prefix 1480 AM, to change the history of communication in the largest city in Araguaia. The population of Barra García started to have a reference. News, music and entertainment began to be broadcast on the waves of Radio Emissora Aruanã.

Listeners were delighted with communicators who came from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and began to speak the names of people, neighborhoods and local streets. That was impressive. Until then, the population only listened to broadcasters from abroad, such as Brasil Central and Anhanguera, from Goiânia; Nacional, from Brasilia; Globo, from Rio de Janeiro and Bandeirantes and Record, from São Paulo.

Watching facts and curiosities about the city on the radio affected the population a lot and contributed a lot to the progress of the municipality and, consequently, of the Araguaia Valley.

At the end of the 1980s, Rádio Aruanã modernized itself, changing its prefix to 560 and acquiring a more powerful transmitter to keep ahead of the competitor that had just arrived.

Since then, Rádio Aruanã has gained a lot of coverage, its signal reaches more than 30 municipalities and it always remains in the lead. Received 11 consecutive awards from Mérito Lojista, as the best AM Radio. Award promoted annually by the CDL of Barra do Garças.

In 2018, the year it completed 40 years, the radio migrated to the 102.1 FM frequency with state-of-the-art equipment and high-level professionals, changing its name to Aruanã FM.

Its objective is to maintain itself as the most traditional and wide ranging radio station in the region, with popular, interactive and high quality programming.

Aruanã FM is the only Class E3 station in the region with a power of 60kw, reaching a radius of 200km covering 51 municipalities with an audience of 290,000 people in Mato Grosso and 333,000 in Goiás.
