The output units consist of controlled muscles that allow us to perform complex actions with our bodies and allow us to communicate by speakingThousands of sensor cells in the human ear detect different sound frequencies and transmit the detected sound information along the auditory nerve to the brain.

With regard to hearing, different hairs in our ears are activated by different frequencies of sound.
