Creative Coffee Shop plays ambient coffee shop sounds to improve creativity.

Creative Coffee Shop is a productivity app with ambient sounds from a coffee shop as research shows that under some conditions, mild ambient noise like the sounds in a coffee shop actually improves performance and creativity. We've also included a overlaid track with sounds of soft rain to further enhance the effect.

A study in the Journal of Consumer Research, describes how researchers conducted five separate experiments to see how noise level influenced productivity and creative cognition. Their results were fairly clear.

A moderate level of ambient noise (70 dB) enhanced subjects' performance on the creativity tasks compared to a relatively quiet environment (50 decibels). High levels of noise (85 dB) hurt performance.

The scientists explained that modest background noise creates enough of a distraction to encourage people to think more imaginatively.
