Go Wifi 2D Barcode Password

GoWifi lets you connect to a WIFI network by scanning a 2D or QR barcode.

With GoWifi you will no longer need to enter complicated passwords in areas where there are free or paid WiFi hotspots.

All you need to do is scan a barcode that has wifi settings. The barcode can either be QR CODE, DATA MATRIX or AZTEC.

Your wifi network provider will have displayed a barcode that you can scan with GoWifi, or share a barcode image via bluetooth.

If your smartphone has no camera or if the camera mulfunctions you can still use GoWifi by selecting a barcode image file from your device. Your wifi provider can share with you the barcode image file via blutooth to your phone for you to scan via the Scan File button.

If you have a Wifi network you can also generate a barcode for your network. Other users with the GoWifi App can then scan your barcode to connect to your network.

GoWifi also provides a security mechanism that restricts your Wifi users from connecting to your Wifi network manually, even if the user knows your Wifi password. This is a beneficial to especially hotels or restaurants where people are known to connect to the Wifi networks outside the restaurant or hotel premises without the consent of the management. With GoWifi a user will be required to enter into the restaurant or hotel to scan the barcode.

To generate a barcode with GoWifi the application will request a small fee. If in Kenya and your device has an active M-PESA account, the app will directed you on how to pay the fee. For other countries only Paypal will be supported.

If you don't need to generate a barcode for your Wifi network you can use GoWifi for free to connect to other GoWifi enabled networks.
