Im at the same. In between a rock and a hard place w/GOOGLE. I got rid of all google/3rd. Party affiliate apps/services on my new phone I have now. APKPURE has been amazing, and non intrusive. Google may be safe as IOS with alil added software, but I cant get over, nor feel comfortable about the dictatorship spew of permissions! And how they word it to say "we can bypss any security to use mic/camera/gps. At anytime as it may be updated/etc. Etc....... **** google !!!!! ALL HAIL FREEDOM FROM PRYING EYES!!!!

Root the phone + secure the phone = no more google.
Google is just every aspect of smart tech. Unless you get rid of it which comes with it's own cons (ie: no more google play, etc.).
In other words if you don't want to be a part of the mainstream system you have to be all in or nothing at all. I'm working on removing every aspect that connects me to mainstream compliance and internet censorship. Better now than never.

you are wise to dissable and uninstall google play services and the play store. i have done it and get a my apps from here at apkpure. if you use whatsapp i recommend gb whatsapp. doesnt have google interference

i agree. get opera with free vpn. brave is a supporter of google ads. opera is awesome

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard  that's literally like saying your not going to use Wonderbread because it looks like Franz Bread .... It's two completely different products, using the same base blocks
