The Queen-Valera, also called Queen's Bible or Bible of the Bear, is one of the first translations of the Bible into Castilian.

The work was made from the translation of the original texts in Hebrew and Greek and was published in Basel, Switzerland, on September 28, 1569. Its translator was Casiodoro de Reina, a Spanish religious converted to Protestantism. It receives the nickname of Reina-Valera for having made Cipriano de Valera the first revision of her in 1602.2

The Reina-Valera was widely disseminated during the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. Today, the Reina-Valera (with several revisions over the years) is one of the bibles in Spanish most used by much of the Christian churches derived from the Protestant Reformation (including the evangelical churches), as well as by others Groups of Christian faith such as the Seventh-day Adventist Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Ministerial Church, International Gideons, and other non-denominational Christians.
