Kanna Lakshminarayana ( కన్నా లక్ష్మి నారాయణ) (born: 13 August 1955) is an Indian Politician, Present President for BJP Party for the state of Andhra Pradesh and EX-Member of the Legislative Assembly for Guntur West constituency and EX-Cabinet Minister for Agriculture & Agriculture Technology Mission in Sri.N.Kiran Kumar Reddy's Cabinet.

Kanna Lakshminarayana was born to Kanna Rangaiah & Kanna Masthanamma on 13 August 1955 in Nagaram Palem, Guntur District. As a successful weightlifter, He dreamt initially to be a Sub-Inspector in the Police department but destiny wanted him to have more power to work towards the betterment of the society. Born to Kanna Rangaiah & Kanna Masthanamma, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana was the youngest in the family. Hailing from a modest background, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana has always been very sensitive to the needs of common man and understood the ebb & flow of a commoner's life. Whether helping the needy and downtrodden in his village or acting as the Industry Minister in Rosaiah’s cabinet, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana has always been at the forefront of social service.

A successful weightlifter, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana was attracted to politics from a very young age. He realized that if he has to make real difference to the life of a common man then he has to join politics and deliver. He knew as an elected representative of people he will have more chance and power to make substantial contribution towards poverty alleviation and bring a qualitative change in the lives of those whom he has seen suffering from close quarters. He was fully aware how majority of people eke out their living. All this suffering never allowed him to sleep peacefully. In those bylanes of Guntur, a sensitive politician was born and who with time brought substantial development to his constituency Pedakurapadu, Guntur and became a role model to others in the public service.

Hailing from a political family of Guntur, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana has this burning desire, deep passion and unflinching faith in the human endeavour which has enabled him to script a highly successful political career of his own, now lasting about 40 years. He still feels he has a lot to contribute and counts every single day as important in his attempt to bring a difference.

Kanna Lakshminarayana is a man of word and commitment never fears to fight for justice and stand up for the truth. In his early political career, he was stabbed when he refused to compromise on his principles. A gold medalist in shooting, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana has brought the virtues of a sportsman - discipline, dedication, direction and desire to win – to the world of politics and social development.

This 52-year-old veteran Congress leader has won the just-concluded election to the State Assembly for the fifth term from Guntur (West) Assembly constituency; he won from Pedakurapadu, the biggest constituency in Andhra Pradesh, for four straight terms, from 1989 to 2004, including the 1994 Assembly elections when only 26 Congressmen won the election. Late NT Rama Rao took personal interest in defeating him in the 1994 Assembly elections but Kanna Lakshmi Narayana still prevailed and it was only possible because he has served the people of his constituency with honesty and dedication.

Kanna Lakshmi Narayana is currently the Minister of Major Industries, Food Processing, Commerce & Export Promotion in the cabinet of Hon’ble Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, having served with distinction as Transport Minister in the previous Cabinet of late Hon’ble CM Dr. Y. S. Rajashekhar Reddy.As an Industries Minister he has initiated major development activities to raise the standard of living of people in all the regions of Andhra Pradesh.
