The first stop of our tour, where we will focus on the place of the mask in cultures and societies, is the mythology of the Pueblo Indians in the southwest of today's USA. The narrative begins with "the souls of native children lost in a river during the ancestral migrations."

The mask is an item designed by people in many different ways and used in many different geographies and cultures, indicating both religious and personal status.

The world's oldest known mask belongs to Agamemnon, the King of Mycenae in Greek mythology.
