Build or join trusted communities through secure location-based application.

Mfunzi allows its users to combine time and space coordinates in order to find interesting events, activities, and notices available in their vicinity. It is the combination of a virtual notice-board and location-based interactions, within a trusted community that makes this app unique.

On the basis of a map and spatiotemporal grid Mfunzi users can visualize which events, community activities as well as adverts are happening within their locations. Through Mfunzi users can share information regarding issues of interest to their community members or the rest of users.

The application is developed as a part of multi-year collaboration project between Mzumbe University in Tanzania, University of Ghent in Belgium, and University of Western-Cape in South Africa.
