At the age of 16, she won the first prize in the whole city. In 1997, she won the Gold Medal for Vocal or Spring and the Intermediate Conservatory of Music, Da Nang. From 1997-1998, she participated in many performances, singing competitions of the district and city. In April 1998, she won the first prize at two singles competition in Tan Binh District and District 6, Ho Chi Minh City. In November 1998, he won the first prize of the Purple Melody.

In January 1999, she became the exclusive singer of Vafaco. Her first record was made under the direction of musician Nguyen Ha. The song "Nhé anh" is just the first recording session.

In the middle of 2000, she broke off her contract with Vafaco, writing her debut song, entitled "Love Forever." The process is composed by musician Nguyen Quang, conductor band Light Music Center. She brought this song along with "I Love You" (sung by Céline Dion) to her audition at the Asian Golden Voice Festival in Shanghai, China and she won the bronze medal.

In June 2001, she graduated from Intermediate School of Music with the highest marks. The public began to refer to "To love you more", "Nhe anh", "Love silly", "Love long" and especially "brown hair" as her own success.

From 2002 to 2005, she was one of the most famous light music stars in Vietnam, with over 40,000 members in the club, with the highest ranking in Vietnam. Explaining to her level, my mind says it is "value" for what she spent and deserve to be matched. The large stage and the luxurious tea rooms still consider My Tam as the name that attracts many customers.

In 2009, My Tam invests in philanthropic work and organizes the "Upgrade tomorrow" program - to offer scholarships to poor and studious children.
