This app is optimized regarding the user's privacy and device security.

QR Codes become more and more important. In some areas they have even replaced the traditional barcode. A QR Code is able to store up to seven thousand characters and therefore is qualified for more complex content

Thus, it is no longer necessary take a hand written note, it is enough to scan the QR Code. Correspondingly, there are already many QR Code scanner apps available in the Google Play Store. But this app supports its users in detecting malicious links: QR Codes provide new possibilities for an attacker, as QR Codes can contain malicious links, i.e. links to phishing webpages or webpages from which malware would automatically be downloaded. Therefore it is important to carefully check the link before accessing the corresponding webpage.

This app is optimized regarding the user's privacy. It only uses the device's camera in order to decode QR codes and barcodes.

To scan the QR code, simply open the application, align the code. QR Code Reader will automatically recognize any QR code. When scanning the QR code, if the code contains a URL, you can open browser to the site by press browser button . If the code contains only text, you can instantly see.

Requires minimal permissions:

- Camera - for scanning barcodes

- Flash Light - flashlight is used to support the camera in reading the QR Code successfully in bad lighting conditions.

- Vibration - Vibrates if scanning is successful.

It does not require any permission that might risk your privacy.

Similar to other available QR Code scanning apps, the QR code reader supports the following formats:

- text

- product codes

- phone number

- sms

- email address

- contact information (e.g. vCards)

- URL

- WiFi (limited: cannot connect to network automatically)

- Bar codes are also supported.

It automatically checks for malicious URLs.
