Then, what about the longest letter in the al-Qur'an?

Surah al-Baqarah is the answer. Yes, surah al-Baqarah, the second surah in the al-Qur'an, is the longest surah with the number of verses 286 is the longest letter in the al-Qur'an.

Surah al-Baqarah has many virtues in Islam. Among other things, this surah when read can expel devils that disturb the house, such as the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam :

لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر، إن الشيطان ينفر من البيت الذي تقرأ فيه سورة البقرة

"Don't you make your house like a grave. In fact, the devil ran from the house where the Surah Al-Baqarah was recited." (HR. Muslim 780, At-Turmudzi 2877)

Not only that, surah al-Baqarah along with surah Ali Imran will be a defender for those who read it on the Day of Judgment, the day when we have no defenders except from the defenders that Allah allows to defend. Therefore, read these two surahs, as the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam ordered : 

"Read the Qur'an, because he will come to give syafa'at to the readers on the Day of Resurrection. Read Az-Zahrawain, namely Al-Baqarah and Surah Ali Imran, because both will come on the Day of Judgment, like two piles of clouds shading the reader, or like two groups of birds flying in formation to defend their readers. Read Surah Al-Baqarah, because reading it is a blessing and not reading it is regret. And magicians won't be able to read it. " (HR. Muslim no. 804)

Not only that, some of the verses in surah al-Baqarah also have enormous benefits when read, for example, the last two verses of surah al-Baqarah if read can last us all night long, as the noble apostle said :

"Whoever reads the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, then he will be given enough." (HR. Bukhari no. 5009 and Muslim no. 808)

Not only that, there is also ayatul kursi which is verse number 255 from surah al-Baqarah, which has some special virtues when read at several different times [reference], which makes this surah al-Baqarah very special to read, especially if it is memorized and practiced.
