The book was written at Andrew Carnegie's commission and based on interviews of 500 of those whom history now recalls as the greatest men of the early 20th century, including Henry Ford, JP Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Theodore Roosevelt, Wilbur Wright and W. Howard Taft. published in 1937, it has now sold more than 70 million copies, which gives it the distinction of being the bestseller of all time in the category of personal success.

we'll warn you: this is one of the strangest books I've read. However, given the pedigree of those on whose advice this book was based, as well as those of today's age who recommended the book, care was taken not to reject outright.
