Warraider - WiFi Wardriving

Automatically find and use open WiFi networks with internet access around you.

Warraider is a small app that discovers and connects you to open WiFi connections around you. After a connection is successfully established, Warraider tests the network to ensure, that it lets you directly access the internet without you having to provide any additional credentials. If an active internet connection has been confirmed, you get notified by sound.

So it is a wardriving app for anybody who needs an internet connection right now but has better things to do than to fiddle around with his phone until he gets lucky.

To use it, just start the app and put the slider from Off to On. Warraider will immediately start the discovery process and will work in the background even if you close it or start another app until you put the slider in the Off state again. It is also working, while you have your phone in your pocket.

So put on some shoes, plug in some ear phones and take a walk around town until you hear the confirmation, that you are connected to an open WiFi with a working internet uplink. Find a bench, sip a cuppa joe and take a rest while using your new internet connection to find out with Maps, where the heck you are.

Or get on your bicycle and ride through eastern Europe, stopping every now and then in smaller villages to take advantage of their public WiFi network to get in touch with friends and family back home.
