The blessing of kindness

Nimah bin Yaqoub bin Mahmoud Al-Hassan is an Iraqi reciter of the Holy Qur’an and has a sweet and melodious voice. He recites the Holy Qur’an according to the principles of authentic Iraqi Maqamat, intonation and intonation. He is one of the most prominent Iraqi reciters and is considered one of the most popular among them.

He was born in Iraq in Basra Governorate in 1388 AH / 1969 AD. His lineage goes back to the “Al-Hassan family,” sheikhs of the Al-Aslam tribe from Shammar in Iraq. He is married and has two daughters. He is the brother of Sheikh Yusuf Al-Hassan, who was the imam and preacher of the Great Mosque of Basra, and who was assassinated by Militias in Basra.

He studied the primary stage at (Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi) School in Basra, then he studied the middle stage at (Al-Nidal) School in Basra, and then he studied at the Islamic Studies Preparatory School in Basra and Samarra.

After that, he completed his university education at the College of Islamic Sciences - University of Baghdad.

He obtained a master's degree from the University of Basra in the Arabic Language Department in the College of Arts, and completed his doctorate in the same specialty at the University of Basra in 2011.

He began to lead the worshipers while he was in middle school in many Iraqi mosques, until he was appointed as the official imam at the Al-Hasnain Mosque in Basra in the year 1415 AH/1995 AD. He also led the worshipers in Tarawih prayers and prayers in the Grand Mosque of Basra, and he continued to lead the prayers in the Al-Hasnain Mosque until he moved to The State of Kuwait in 2003 AD, where he was appointed as the Tarawih imam at Al-Alban Mosque during the blessed month of Ramadan. He was then appointed as a regular imam at the Sindh Mosque in the Kaifan area. He also leads the worshipers in the prayers at the Othman bin Affan Mosque in the same area.

His elders

He began learning the Qur’an in Basra at the hands of Hajj Muhammad Saleh.

Then he studied the provisions of Tajweed in Samarra at the hands of Sheikh Qasim Al-Samarrai.

Then he obtained a degree in the narration of Hafs on the authority of Asim from Sheikh Othman Al-Kurdi at the College of Islamic Sciences - University of Baghdad.
